Health plans have spent decades becoming better at collecting information. The next advantage will come from becoming better at making decisions.
Healthcare organizations now have access to more clinical, administrative, financial, and behavioral information than at any point in their history. Artificial intelligence will expand that capability dramatically.
But information alone does not create better outcomes.
The harder question is whether an organization can turn evidence into a trusted decision—and make that decision consistently across functions, workflows, and time.
That question sits at the center of my work.

Drawing on executive leadership experience across health plans, healthcare technology, consulting, and operations, John focuses on the intersection of strategy and execution—where emerging industry trends become practical operating models that improve organizational performance.
John currently serves as a Health Plan Executive at InterSystems. His career has also included leadership roles with IBM, VNSNY CHOICE Health Plans, Apollo Health Street, and Deloitte.

Why The Operator's Brief Exists
The Operator’s Brief was created for leaders responsible for turning change into operating reality.
Health plans are being reshaped simultaneously by new economics, new forms of clinical data, artificial intelligence, regulatory change, and changing expectations of what these organizations should become. Most analysis examines those forces individually. The Operator’s Brief examines what happens when they converge inside the enterprise.
The publication, ideas, and frameworks here are an effort to understand the operating model that convergence requires—and to make visible what the next generation of health plans will need to become.
